Along with what would have happened if Al Gore had been able to justifiably win Florida in 2000, the other great what-if about modern American politics is what would have happened if someone other than Sarah Palin had been selected as John McCain's running mate in 2008. The film Game Change makes it abundantly clear that life-long Republican voters didn't vote for McCain because of Palin. If McCain's advisors had done even the most basic of vetting procedures and discovered just how unsuitable Palin was for National office, they might have selected someone else and the result might have been different. It's an interesting question to ponder.
As promised here are the links for the three campaigns I discussed on the show:
Help the happy problem make a music video
Help The Slants get a tour bus
Help fund the Michael C. Hall cadaver storage room at Earlham College
Only one non-live video this week, but it is the really clever one from Skipping Girl Vinegar I mentioned in the show.
